Nestling in the tiny rural village of Heywood, Ashe Cottage is a lovely old rambling house with oak beams and low ceilings. There is an equestrian centre across the road and we have special rates on local cycle, canoe and canal boat hire. The nearby Pub with its fine real ales and superb food is just a short walk across the fields or 1 mile by car. There are excellent golf courses in the area and we can arrange daily or weekly golfing tours. Heywood is ideally situated for visiting The Roman City of Bath and all the historic attractions of the English West Country. We are just 40 mins from Stonehenge and Salisbury. The whole area is steeped in history with a strong Saxon, Norman and Roman influence. We are about 2 hours from London's Heathrow airport and can provide executive airport transfers.

• City of Bath - 25 minutes by car - famous for its Roman Baths and beautiful parks, excellent shops and theatres. Cinemas, Sports Centre and dozens of great bars and restaurants catering for all tastes.
• Stonehenge - world famous Ancient Druid Stone Circle.
• Westbury White Horse -Carved into the chalk downs. Stunning views and excellent for walking & Cycling.
• Bradford on Avon - An historic Saxon town on the Kennet and Avon Canal. Spend a day wandering the narrow hillside streets and sample the delights of some more wonderful Old English Pubs!
• Salisbury - A lovely city with magnificent medieval Cathedral dating from the 13th Century.
• Stourhead - Beautiful 18th Century gardens and Palladian House. Open air classical concerts held in the grounds in the summer.
• Lacock - 13th Century village and Abbey protected by the National trust. One of Britain's most beautiful villages and home of the Fox Talbot Museum of Photography.
• Longleat - Elizabethan Mansion belonging to the Marquis of Bath famous for its Safari Park and "Centre Parcs" Leisure Complex.

From London

• M4 west exit Junction 17.
• Follow A350 past Chippenham, Melksham towards Westbury.
• At Yarnbrook roundabout with "Hungry Horse" pub turn left.
• Look for large church on right at entrance to Church Road.

...Or

• M3 west exit Junction 8.
• Follow A303 towards Exeter.
• 10 miles past Stonehenge turn right through Warminster (A36) follow A350 through Westbury towards Trowbridge.
• The Church is about 1 mile on the left, this is Church Road!

 
From Bath

• A4 towards Chippenham.
• At Bathford turn right onto A363 proceed under railway bridge and on through Bradford on Avon to Trowbridge on towards Westbury.
• 1 mile past "Hungry Horse" pub turn right at Church into Church Road.

 
From Channel Ports

• From Dover, M20 then M25 towards Heathrow, pick up M3 and follow directions as from London.

 
From Poole

• A350 to Warminster then follow London directions.

 
From Southampton or Portsmouth

• A36 to Salisbury and Warminster then follow London Directions.
