From the M4 turn off at junction 18 onto the A46. Go approx 8 miles (13km) to the A4. Continue towards Chippenham and Bradford-on-Avon on the dual-carriageway to the roundabout at the end. Turn right towards Bradford-on-Avon on the A363. Go under railway bridge and turn immediately left into Bathford. (In front of the Crown Pub.) Go up hill for 1.5 miles (2km) as far as Swan Pub. Do not turn into the entrance to Lower kingsdown Road before you get to the Swan.Just past Swan turn left into Lower Kingsdown Road. Down short steep hill and bear right past 'Road Closed' sign. Owl House is 3/400 yds (0.5 km) on the left You can park at the top of the drive or bring the car down. But please check before you drive down that there is space, or you could find yourself reversing all the way up!

Coming from the London direction you may wish to leave the M4 at junction 17 and come via Chippenham. This is more complicated but a bit shorter in distance. If you decide to try this route do check it on a map first. Leave the M4 at junction 17 (Chippenham), taking the A350 towards Chippenham. Turn right at first large roundabout (approx 1.5 miles) . Follow the ring road around Chippenham across a further 4 roundabouts always following signs to Bath. At the final roundabout turn right. You are now on the A4 going towards Bath. Go approx 1 mile to a set of traffic lights. Straight across and through Pickwick. Across 2 mini roundabouts. Turn left onto B3109 signposted to Bradford-on-Avon. Follow the road across country for approx 2.5 miles until you come to a 5 road junction with traffic lights. Go diagonally to the right signposted Kingsdown. Go for 1.8 miles across the golf course and you come to The Swan Pub on the right. Turn right just before the Swan (there is a red telephone box on the corner).Bear right at the bottom of the hill. Go past a 'Road Closed Ahead' sign and follow the road for about 300 yards. Owl House is on the left. It has ranch style fencing and a hanging notice outside the gate. You can bring the car down the drive (very steep), but check first that there is space, or leave it at the top of the drive.

From Salisbury or Stonehenge make your way to Bradford-on-Avon. From Bradford-on-Avon follow signs for Bath A363. Drive 5 miles (6.5 km) and just before a railway bridge, turn right into Bathford. You will see the Crown pub on your right. Go 1.5 miles (2km) up the hill through Bathford until you reach the Swan pub on your left. Turn left just beyond the pub into Lower Kingsdown Road. There is a red telephone box on the corner. Go down steep hill. Bear right beside Road Closed sign and follow the road for about 300 yds (0.5 km). Owl House is on the left.

Without a car. You will arrive at Bath Spa railway station. Take a taxi to Owl House but ensure you have these directions with you. Taxi drivers often don't know where we are. The taxi ride will take about 20 minutes (depending on traffic) and should cost around £12. When traveling from Owl House using public transport, you will need to be prepared for a walk as well. There is one bus a day at 10.45am that goes from opposite the Swan Pub (only 5 minutes walk). The same bus returns from Bath at around 3pm. Alternatively there is a regular bus service from Bathford - 1 mile down the road. Its a pleasant walk down to Bathford.
